[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] OpenAI is expanding integrations with popular apps through ChatGPT, TechCrunch reported on Friday.
If users connect various apps such as DoorDash, Spotify and Uber to ChatGPT, it can execute commands directly. For example, linking a Spotify account allows ChatGPT to create customised playlists. To connect an app, users can access ChatGPT and enter the name of the app they want to use.
ChatGPT helps with login and account linking. Users can also select desired apps in the settings menu and set them up in one go.
Users should note that app data is shared with ChatGPT when accounts are linked. For example, connecting Spotify provides the AI with playlists and listening history. If privacy is a concern, it is advisable to review permission settings before linking. App connections can be removed at any time in the settings menu.
Recently, ChatGPT has been strengthening integrations with multiple apps. Angi enabled users to resolve home renovation-related questions directly in ChatGPT, and Booking.com added a hotel recommendation feature for travellers. Users can enter their desired city, dates and budget in ChatGPT to search for and book accommodation.
ChatGPT can also be linked with Canva for graphic design work, supporting the creation of customised slides or posters. DoorDash announced a ChatGPT integration in December 2025, allowing users to plan meals through the AI and add needed ingredients to their cart.
ChatGPT's app integration feature is currently available only in the United States and Canada.
