With the KOSPI index breaking above 5,000 for the first time, Mirae Asset Securities drew the most users to its brokerage app last month.

Wiseapp Retail said on Feb. 5 that a sample survey of Korean smartphone users found Mirae Asset Securities' M-STOCK was the most-used brokerage app in January. The app ranked first with 3.6 million monthly active users (MAU).

Kiwoom Securities' HeroineS# ranked second with 3.43 million users. Samsung Securities' mPOP placed third with 2.84 million. Korea Investment & Securities' Hanto app logged 2.65 million, KB Securities' M-able 2.64 million and Namu Securities 2.42 million.

Shinhan SOL Securities had 1.44 million users, NH Investment & Securities' N2 had 690,000 and Hana Securities' 1Q Pro had 550,000. Yuanta Securities' T-Radar M had 440,000, Daishin Securities' CYBOS Touch had 400,000 and Meritz SMART had 360,000 users.

All surveyed brokerage apps increased users from a year earlier as the stock market rally continued, with the KOSPI rising above 5,000 in January. Mirae Asset Securities, Korea Investment & Securities and Yuanta Securities apps were found to have set record-high user numbers since launch.

Wiseapp Retail conducted the survey using a sample of Korean Android and iOS smartphone users, targeting trading-only apps of major brokerages.
