DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규) - AI and data-based HR tech platform JobKorea said on Wednesday that its analysis of job postings by large companies published in the third quarter showed postings by large companies in semiconductors and displays, including affiliates and subsidiaries, rose 102 percent from a year earlier.
JobKorea said cumulative views of job postings by major semiconductor companies also rose 64 percent. Hiring of experienced workers was particularly notable. Postings for experienced roles at major semiconductor firms rose 157 percent from a year earlier, far outpacing the 55 percent increase in entry-level postings. As demand for AI memory grows, companies are placing more weight on securing staff who can be deployed immediately, JobKorea said.
Among cumulative job postings by major companies through the third quarter, postings for semiconductor engineers also rose 55 percent, well ahead of the 17 percent growth rate for semiconductor engineer postings across the overall hiring market over the same period.
Hiring was also active in other sectors. Postings by major companies in logistics and transportation rose 130 percent from a year earlier, driven by expanded hiring of on-site staff for logistics centers and delivery, centered on e-commerce logistics companies. Postings also rose in pharmaceuticals and biotech, up 58 percent, construction, up 37 percent, and autos, shipbuilding, steel and aviation, up 19 percent.
As the second-half hiring season began in earnest, hiring news from major companies such as SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor also drew attention. A JobKorea official said, "As major companies, centered on the semiconductor sector, actively move to secure talent, hiring demand and interest are growing together." The official added, "JobKorea will create synergy with family brands such as AlbaMon and JobPlanet and advance AI-based matching services to help job seekers avoid missing opportunities and find jobs that fit them."
