KT said on Sept. 30 it has begun training for the 10th cohort of its KT Aivle School programme to boost young people’s practical AI and digital transformation (DX) capabilities and foster AI transformation (AX) talent needed in industry.

KT on Sept. 29 held an online entrance ceremony with about 250 trainees in the 10th cohort of Aivle School and began the curriculum in earnest.

Aivle School is an AI and cloud-based practical training programme that KT runs with the Ministry of Employment and Labor for young people preparing for jobs. Since launching Aivle School in 2021, KT has produced about 4,000 graduates. Graduates have moved into about 500 companies and work in a range of roles including AI development, data analysis, sales, marketing and planning.

Trainees in the 10th cohort will receive AX training for 840 hours in total, 8 hours a day, over the next 6 months. KT will provide live online lectures through its own online learning platform. It will also run one-on-one tutoring to support each trainee’s learning level and assignment work.

Training will be centred on project-based learning (PBL). Trainees will experience the entire process of identifying problems in industrial and workplace settings, analysing data, designing solutions and implementing them as services using AI and digital technology.

Current KT experts will take part in the projects. KT plans to use this to enhance not only AI technology application skills but also problem-solving and collaboration capabilities required at real companies.

KT will also offer opportunities to obtain certificates, including AICE (AI Certificate for Everyone), a nationally accredited AI utilisation qualification. After training and projects end, it will run recruitment-linked programmes and provide job placement support.

Lee Sun-joo (이선주), an executive director who heads KT’s talent office, said Aivle School focuses on ensuring trainees develop AX capabilities they can use in industrial workplaces through real projects. He said KT will continue to support young people so they can build practical skills and project experience and lead AX innovation across industries.
